Do you know why the devil is so smart?

That's what my boss asked me in his heavy, elderly Cuban accent so many years ago back in Miami. I'd probably been called to his office over some crazy thing I'd yet again tried at work which had failed miserably.

Expecting to be chewed out, I was instead taken aback by the life lesson Iggy had chosen to bestow upon me that day.

"Because he's so old..." Iggy continued in measured tones, a slight grin emerging as he leaned back in his creaking office chair.

"... he's had the chance to make every mistake that can be made!"

Fast-forward 20+ years later, and those words continue to resonate. Because I've continued to push myself and the boundaries of what can or can't be done, I've made a lot of mistakes, but also have been able to build and grow my business in leaps and bounds.
